Artist's Description

This is the Canonchet, said to be the U.S. Navy's largest tugboat, under construction at the boatyard in Port Townsend, Washington -- my hometown. I was incredibly lucky to get this shot. The blue sky. The vessel cradled in this monstrous crane that gave the entire image a surreal persona. And at this particular phase of its construction -- before the rubber bumpers became installed over the metal receivers. Two days later I returned like an addict to the same spot and found everything changed. This is a shot that will never be duplicated.
